OK, so the main show in town is the Euro Championships, but life goes on as normal elsewhere in the curling world. Scottish Curler ace reporter Robin Copland was on the case at Murrayfield.
He writes, "Alan Smith, Neil McArthur, David Reid and Mark Fraser (double for Mark - he won it with Pete Loudon last year) beat Bob Kelly (throwing 2nd stones), Richard Woods, Eve Muirhead and Sandy Reid in a tight final. Sandy Nelson won the seniors tournament." Find all the results here. And a pic of the Smith team is here. They won the Inverness Skins recently.
Three National Academy teams were in Thun for the junior event there, Claire Hamilton, Kay Adams and Greg Drummond. The last mentioned got to the quarterfinals.
Michael McCreadie's team won the British Open Wheelchair Championships at Kinross, by defeating Jim Sellar's side in the final. Results are here.
And the Princess Trust for Carers bonspiel at Braehead raised a huge sum of money for the charity on Sunday. There will be more on this in the January Scottish Curler magazine. Meantime well done to all involved!
The photo of Alan Smith is by Bob.
