Those of you that have been following the results of the World Wheelchair Curling Qualifying Competition at Inverness will have already seen that Sweden, skipped by Jalle Jungnell (above right), and Italy, skipped by Andrea Tabanelli (above left), have qualified, after tiebreakers, for the World event at Sursee in February. All the results are here.
I hear that the website received more than 60,000 hits during the event, reflecting the growing interest in wheelchair curling. By all accounts the event was a great success, good for wheelchair curling, for Scotland, for Inverness, and for the Inverness rink where some one hundred and twenty volunteers came together to assist in all sorts of ways.
Well done to all involved on and off the ice and to the 'big banana' Tom Pendreigh (below) who headed up the organising committee!
