The first games to find this season's Scottish Women's Curling Champions are at the Dewar's Centre, Perth, this weekend. Six teams are vying for three places in the Columba Cream Gold League. Claire Milne with Lynn Cameron, Jacqui Byers and Rachael Simms are the favourites to come through the Gold League Prequalifier. Claire and Lynn played in the final last season as the front end on Rhona Martin's side. They have to get past teams skipped by Gillian Howard, Claire Hamilton, Anna Sloan, Kay Adams and Eve Muirhead. It promises to be a tough competition.
The first games are at 3pm tomorrow (Friday). The draw is here.
Teams already qualified for the first round of the Gold League proper, at Aberdeen, November 23-25, are Kelly Wood, Edith Loudon, Sarah Reid, Sharon Stewart and Gail Munro.
