Fussen Reports 3: Scotland V Denmark

Scotland's men's team faced Denmark in their second round game at the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships in Fussen, Germany.

It was not a good game for the Murdoch four, they were down by three shots after five ends. It did not get any better in the second half of the game though they did cut the deficit to one shot after six and tied the game after eight. A two to Denmark in the ninth sealed Scotland's fate, they lost the game 6/4 and finished day one on a record of one win one loss.

Fussen Reports 3: Scotland walkover

In their second game at the Le Gruyere Curling Championships Scotland’s women met Italy the 2006 European Silver Medallists.

Scotland stole two in the first end. They were lying well in the second end, with her last stone Kelly Wood played to the front 12 foot. Italian skip Diana Gaspari attempted a draw with her last stone, it wrecked on a front stone leaving Scotland lying four and holding a six shot lead after just two ends.

Italy picked up one shot in the third and fifth, Scotland got one in the fourth, after a two score by Scotland in the sixth Italy conceded.

Scotland had their second win 9/2.

Fussen Reports 2: Scotland's men against Italy

David Murdoch with Graeme Connal, Peter Smith and Euan Byers took on Italy in their first game at the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships in Fussen, Germany.

This was not a hard game for the Scots, they led by four shots after six ends and never looked to be in any trouble. Italy managed a single in the sixth end, Scotland got that back on the eighth, Italy conceded when the ninth end was blanked. Final score 6/2 to Scotland.

Fussen Reports 1: Women's Draw 1

In their opening game of the Le Gruyere European Curling Championships in Fussen Kelly Wood, Jackie Lockhart, Lorna Vevers and Lindsay Wood took on the home team, Germany skipped by Andrea Schopp.

This was never going to be an easy game and so it proved in the first half, though the scoring in the first few ends was close Germany looked the better team, a two to Germany in the fifth gave them the lead.

In the second half the Wood foursome looked a lot better, after eight they had tied the score and stole one in the ninth when Andrea Schopp's last stone was over swept. Germany tied the game in the tenth forcing an extra end.

Scotland kept the front clear, when Kelly Wood came to play her last stone she faced two German counters at the back of the house and a guard just off centre. But she could see the shot stone and hit it perfectly for one shot and the game.
